These Terms of Service ('Terms') govern your use of Bolwerk, a domain security and SSL certificate monitoring service available at bolwerk.ai (the 'Service'). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you're authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.
1. The Service
Bolwerk monitors domain names you add and analyzes publicly available information such as certificate transparency logs, DNS records, and SSL certificates. The Service may use AI to help explain findings. It supports your security process and does not replace a professional security audit or penetration test.
2. Account & access
Using the Service requires an account. You're responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Report any unauthorized use of your account immediately at [email protected].
3. Acceptable use
You may only use the Service to monitor domains you own or have explicit permission to monitor from the owner. You may not use the Service to scan third-party domains without authorization, use it for unlawful purposes, overload our infrastructure, or use its results to gain unauthorized access to third-party systems.
4. Subscriptions & payment
Bolwerk offers free and paid plans with different features and usage limits. Paid plans are billed in advance and renew automatically unless cancelled before the next billing date. Prices and limits are listed on our pricing page and may change with advance notice.
5. Intellectual property
All rights in the Service, including its software, design, and branding, belong to Bolwerk or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms. Data you submit, such as your domain names, remains yours.
6. Availability & limitations
We work to keep the Service available and accurate, but don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Security findings are based on automated analysis of publicly available data and may be incomplete or inaccurate. The Service does not replace professional security advice.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Bolwerk is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, or damages arising from use or inability to use the Service. Bolwerk's total liability is in any case limited to the amount you paid to Bolwerk in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply in cases of intent or gross negligence.
8. Termination
You may cancel your account at any time in your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms or misuse of the Service. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive, such as liability and governing law, remain in effect.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email or a notice within the Service. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
